Present time.
Arabian Peninsula.
UAE — Dubai.
Night. Full moon.
The yacht continued to drift quietly near the Burj Al Arab. Still reflecting on the year 2012, a recent part of her past, Amilaniara stood on the deck, watching the city whose shoreline remained lit by millions of lights.
Moonlight stretched across the water in a smooth silver path. The full moon, positioned directly above the Burj Al Arab, drew her gaze. Stepping inside the yacht’s salon, she approached a table by the entrance and opened a box containing her favourite type of Arabian oud. She placed a small piece of the oud into a special device, which quickly heated it, releasing a rich and familiar fragrance into the air.
“Progress in the small things is pleasant too,” she thought. Not long ago, she would have had to use tiny golden charcoal discs, heated with fire, to enjoy this scent. Now, convenient modern devices made the entire process faster and easier.
Gently stroking her fluffy white cat resting on the sofa, Amilaniara walked over to the grand piano. She brushed her fingertips first across the white keys, then the golden ones. After one more glance at the glowing city, she sat down and began to play a melody that echoed the atmosphere of the night around her.
The piece was called Moonlight Over Dubai. And indeed, the soft moonlight that evening was enchanting, setting the perfect mood. The calm and beautiful piano music filled the space, blending with the wind and the waves of the gulf, drifting into the distance.

Immersed in the vibrant evening atmosphere of modern Dubai, the reader is carried back 100, 1,000, and 14,000 years through the main character’s memories, stepping directly into the events of those distant eras.

The great eras of the West are behind me. I turn towards the East, where the wisdom of centuries is hidden in the silence of misty mountains and the grace of cranes.
Standing still before this painting, evoking the quiet elegance of Chinese or Japanese scrolls, immersing myself in their silent world.
WOVEN WORLDS
Rococo art transformed history into an elegant theatrical stage. The threads of this tapestry weave together the French refinement of Boucher and the exotic motifs of the East. Another stop on my journey, where time stands still in pastel colors and silk stitches.

Standing before a masterpiece from the celebrated 'Story of the King of China' tapestry series by the Beauvais manufactory. A lavish European fantasy of Eastern majesty, filled with sails, exotic birds, and theatrical arches. Here, art acts as a vessel, carrying the imagination to the fantastical worlds of the past.
EVENING AT THE LOUVRE. Returning to the Present
My journey through the ages culminates here, beneath the majestic dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi. The past yields to the present, dissolving into the rays of the setting sun and the gentle whisper of the sea. A sunset is never an end, but a moment of stillness before a new chapter and the untold paths yet to be taken.
